A Rich Vein

Mining it.

Sometimes my mind buzzes extra hard with ideas and I feel a massive surge of creative energy. When that happens, if I have the time, I try to run with it for as long as I can. The last few days have been like that. It’s been productive and great fun. I’m a bit knackered now though so I’m taking a break.

I made the Baba Ganoush. It’s a spread/dip from the Middle-East made from aubergines, tahini, garlic and lemon juice. Its distinctive taste comes from roasting (or char-grilling) the aubergines. I put mine in the oven and promptly forgot about them. They were supposed to be in there an hour but I left them in for two. I thought they would be unsalvageable but, actually, they weren’t. I added the other ingredients, stirred it all together into a smooth paste and that was it. Tastes good although it has the consistency of snot.

I’ve been painting my sea creatures. That’s why I forgot about the aubergines. This is work in progress. The three things at the top left are going to be owls. I’ll explain in due course.

More to do but not just now.
